Most of life is described in terms of waiting. A woman conceives a baby and is waiting for it to be born. The wait then begins for the first tooth, first step, first word. Anticipated events in every life are the milestones. But, while life is marked in the milestones, it is lived in the space between the milestones. This year there will be several new milestones in my life, but in the meantime . . .
